I love the 3D effect in this game and look forward to the update! Yesterday I played FAST RMX with the JoyCons on the Switch. After starting this game 1 day ago with the Pro Controller I couldn't play it with the JoyCons. The R, ZR (L, ZL) buttons are too close together. →

Also the overall handling was difficult. The JoyCons can still be more comfortable to play RPG's, Sims, Puzzles etc. when not attached to the console bec. then the hands don't have to be in the same position all the time. For Racing games, Fighting games, Action ... the Pro Controller is highly recommended.

I've really liked the Joy-Con grip so far on Zelda. I was actually surprised how good it feels as a controller.
I'm trying to use it as much as possible, so I don't have to get a Pro Controller, but I think I can't play 2D platformers without a Dpad..
I have to get another pair of Joy-Cons for local multiplayer with the family anyway..

My only games on the Switch so far are FAST RMX, Metal Slug 3, VOEZ (a touch screen only game). And I started RMX with the Pro Controller right away. The Joy cons have a good design and handling and they will be more comfortable than any other controllers in long RPG gaming sessions. For Action, Racer, Fighting games the Pro Controller is the better option imo.

Are the Pro Controllers sticks longer than the Joy-Cons?
I really love the shorter sticks the Joy-Cons have. Makes it lot easier than on the Wii U's gamepad for example.

Harri, they are a little bit longer, but everything on the Pro controller really fits in. It's pretty much perfect.

I just watched a review of Shovel Knight for the Switch on YT (a named review company). He said as much as he loves the JoyCons, for Shovel Knight they are 'awful'. He would play this game only with a Pro Controller. This pretty much confirms my own opinion in my quick review. In the long run it's best you have both controllers.

I just decided to download 'Specter of Torment' for the Switch. Yacht Club deserves it and it's also Switch weekend! - I'm still looking forward to the update of Shovel Knight for the 3DS!

Yeah I thought it would be best played with a Dpad.. I'll be on a lookout then!
