The amiibo allows you to customize your character, including having that head, so it might as well be canon. This creates some interesting questions. •Is Black Knight a fish person too? •Do all fish knights wield shovels? •What races are other masked knights such as King, Propeller, Plague, etc.?

Also, why does the protagonist get to be Shovel Knight if there are others? Was he the first one? Was he the leader of a guild of shovel warriors? Do they all wear that same armor style?

well. the blacksmith in the armory outpost specialty is forging shovel blades. so that means the are definitely more then just shovel knight and black knight out there. maybe there is a guild out there.

And when you fight Polar Knight, he says that he left the guild to be in the order. Because he has a snow shovel, of course.
