hey. i looked up some codes [ don't worry, i beat the game normally first] and ran across a code for something called "the shovel of hope” but the code [seemingly] didn't do anything. is it not on the 3DS version? [or not real.]

The only code I've heard of the Shovel Knight is called 'Butt Mode', which swaps random words with the word 'butt'. I heard about it from a friend who was playing Shovel Knight next to me randomly reading off one of the text lines... Making me start laughing and then drive headfirst into a wall in Mario Kart 7.

Shovel of Hope is the subtitle retroactively given to the Shovel Knight campaign, and will be the subtite of the Shovel Knight mode only release coming out later. I would assume codes for Shovel of Hope would be codes that only work while playing as Shovel Knight. As to effects, well, there are more than 300 different codes for the game. I think I saw a pretty good listing of them on IGN.

I'm pretty sure Shovel Of Hope is the main storyline of the game.
